This year Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has included the post of Assistant Audit Officer in Indian Accounts Department under CAG in the scheme of Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Examination 2016. Assistant Audit Officer is the only Gazetted officer post in SSC CGL 2016. It is a Group-B Gazetted Officer Post. Audit means an official inspection of an organization’s accounts. An AAO need to assist the audit officer and Senior Audit officer in conducting various departmental audits. The audit involves various financial and economic aspects, and the performance and adherence of various organizations and departments.  =&0=&  a) Essential Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or Institute.  b) Desirable Qualifications for the Post of Assistant Audit Officer: Chartered Accountant or cost & Management Accountant or Company Secretary or Masters in Commerce or Masters in Business Studies or Masters in Business Administration (Finance) or Masters in Business Economics. Those who apply for the post of Assistant Audit officer will have to appear for an additional paper in SSC CGL namely General studies (Finance and Economics). The combined marks of tier I, tier II and this third paper will be used for recruiting the candidates. So the total marks will be 800. Those who do not possess the desirable qualification can also apply for the post of AAO. So B.Tech, BSc, and other Bachelor’s degree candidates can also apply for the post but they need to prepare well for the Finance and Economics paper in order for crossing the cutoff. =&1=& The paper consists of two parts Part A: Finance and Accounts-(80 marks) Part B: Economics and Governance-(120 marks) Important Topics to study for Finance and Economics paper: Part A:
